Shirt Notice

Shirt Notice is a project put together to engage with local artists and the community, to raise funds and awareness in support of People Dem Collective.

 

Taking inspiration from recent global protests against racism, we have 20 artists local to Margate, exhibiting an ‘upcycled’ T-shirt into wearable (or not) artwork.

 

The exhibition will take place Little Swift, where they will be put up for silent bid over the weekend of 25th-27th of September. With all proceeds going to People Dem Collective, this will contribute to their crowd fund to support the development of a new national culture centre in Margate, celebrating the rich cultural heritage of the town.

 

The exhibition will be free and open to all, with the opportunity to bid for a T-shirt or donate. The aim of this project is to not just to raise money but also to raise awareness, facilitate systemic change and promote healing.
