First Fridays: Regentrification

Continuing Marine Studios’ tenth anniversary celebrations, a panel of experts will discuss what the future holds for artists’ studios.

From the original gentrification of a small fishing and farming village in the 1700s to the town’s renaissance as Shoreditch by Sea (according to every Guardian journalist) in the 21st century. Join us for a discussion about Margate’s (re)gentrification.

They’ll have prompts on hand to get you thinking beyond the usual gentrification narrative and a panel discussion from 7.30pm with meanwhile use experts East Street Arts, and Kate Kneale (Marine Studios).

The aim? To imagine what the Isle of Thanet’s creative economy might look in ten years, and what we might need to do now to support it.
