Plantland: Tom Verity and Melanie Wheeler

Open: Tuesday: 11:00 – 15:00, except 24 and 31 December
Tom Verity & Melanie Wheeler have constructed a gothic greenhouse taking inspiration from medieval architecture contrasted with the everyday utility of a greenhouse. The structure contains a project exploring the political and social history of gardens, drawing upon local communities and wider society throughout history.
Opening week 7 – 11 October (open to the public 7, 8 & 10, 11 October) with the following events
Monday 7 October, 09:30 – 11:00
as part of the Autism Morning, artist Melanie Wheeler will run a sensory activity for people coming for the event.
Tuesday 8 October, 10:00 – 16:00
Official opening of PLANTLAND.
This will include 2 guided tours at 11:30 and 14:30. View the gardens with a regular visitor or member of Windmill Community Gardens staff; then meet the Plantland artists Melanie Wheeler & Tom Verity for a tour of the installation.

Join artist Tom Verity at cabbage patch activities suitable for all ages (children must be accompanied by an adult)
Friday 11 October times TBA
Tom Verity & Melanie Wheeler will join the well being group participants with a drawing / making workshop.
25 October, time TBA (between 11:00 and 15:00)
Pumpkin party
Melanie Wheeler & Tom Verity will bring a sound workshop for children and families
