Hip-Hop Something: Lee Saffery

My idea is to create a visual and audio space to highlight how essential hip-hop has been in race related social political change. Visually I want the walls covered with records, this is in order to create the aesthetic of a “Hip-Hop Head’s” basement/studio. Some of the records will have information about Hip-Hop and its impact.

What do you see the artists role being in the overall effort to dismantle systemic racism?

We believe in education, we believe that there is a lot of work to be done and that our work will help raise awareness that this is a UK issue and racism does happen everyday.
